It is easy to fall into a routine in life. Get up. Get dressed, Get to work. Repeat. You may not like it, but it's a living. Here are some ways that you can become more spontaneous and efficient at the same time.
- Change your routine more often - It can be little things like trying a new coffee shop, or going to that gym class that you have been worried about, or even try to get to work a different way. You don't need to move to a different country and start over with a fake name. But shaking up your routine with little things could make you more open minded and flexible with ideas.
- Change up your environment - Maybe buy new furniture or move a desk to the other side of the room, or just buy another pot plant because you think it looks pretty. I'm not saying you must run to IKEA the second you experience déjà vu, it just has to be a little difference that can bring spontaneity back into your life. Working in a disorganised and messy environment has been proven to be bad for you and your work ethic. So, even though you hate it, clean up once in a while!
- Have friends over and do something different - When hanging out friends, how often do you find yourselves doing the same thing over and over again? Maybe try inviting them over to try something different, such as baking a cake or try to paint one another. Sure it may be 'dorky', but it sure is more entertaining than hearing the same story of what 'Becky did to Brad' whilst sitting at the same restaurant over and over again, like groundhogs day, only somehow, more dramatic.
