Finding time and motivation to try something new and be creative every day is difficult. Especially when trying to balance a work and social life as well. So here are some examples and tips of how to be more creative in day to day life.
- Take a break in study sessions to try something new - All work and no play make's everyone a dull
boyperson. Why not take a break from the constant homework and assessments to try to make something new. Maybe bake cookies or attempt to draw, or even make slime because you can. You may feel like it won't help at all and that you wasting your time, but studies show that taking a break can serve as creative fuel.
- Start a daily project - Start with a target and continue to keep working on it for as long as you want. This helps if you don't want to spend 20 minutes every day thinking about what to do.
- Jump onto the internet and learn something new - whether it is how to play an instrument or even crochet. in this day and age, it is easy to learn something every day. I have always websites like YouTube or Pinterest have helped me get my creative mind flowing.
- Get outside into nature - Whether it's a park or a balcony, there are many factors of going outside that have positive effects on you and your body.
- Doodle. On. Everything. - Though many people hate doodles and say that they make work look messy, and doodles are often perceived as someone not focusing on their task. Random doodles help to get your creative juices flowing. A favourite of mine is drawing a 5-minute Mandela, or just drawing a random scribble and colouring it in with different colours. Just maybe don't do it on a really important test...
- Daydream - This is incredibly important in any creative process. Maybe daydream about your perfect day, or what you what to do in the future, or Punching Donald Trump in the face, or daydream about ponies. Whatever your heart and mind wants to think about.
